It has been a while since I wrote about something I actually used. This time it is the SKINTIFIC Alaska Volcano Pore Clay Stick.

Why I Bought It

I bought this with my own money from Watsons.

I was not really planning to buy a clay mask that day. I was just looking around while accompanying the girlfriend of my husband’s nephew, who was visiting Davao from New Zealand.

You know those random Watsons moments where you tell yourself you are “just looking,” but then something catches your attention?

That was me.

I saw the SKINTIFIC products and got curious about the brand. I also bought the SKINTIFIC PDRN Bright & Smooth that day, but this clay stick caught my attention because it looked so simple and mess-free.

The label says it helps with blackheads and clogged pores, and honestly, I have been looking for something that can help clean my pores better.

My skin is dry, but I still get clogged pores. I also tried nose strips before, but they really do not work for me anymore. So when I saw that this came in a stick form, I thought, okay, maybe this is worth trying.

I actually like the packaging.

It is simple, clean-looking, and easy to understand. I also like that it comes in a stick because I do not have to scoop anything out or mix anything in a bowl.

Before this, the clay mask I remember using was the Aztec Clay Mask before the pandemic. That one was a whole ritual. You have to mix it with water or apple cider vinegar, prepare a container, use a brush or your hands, and then wash everything after.

This one feels easier.

You just twist it, apply it, and rinse later.

For me, it feels more hygienic and convenient, especially since I am the only one using it. Of course, I still make sure my face is clean before applying the stick because the product touches the skin directly. I do not want dirt, germs, or whatever is on my face to transfer back to the stick.

But compared to mixing clay in a bowl where contamination can also happen if you are not careful, this one feels simpler and more controlled.

The Scent and Texture

The scent is mild.

It has this refreshing earthy fragrance that I cannot fully describe, but I like it. It does not smell too strong or overwhelming to me.

The texture is also smoother than I expected. When I touched the clay on my face, it felt smooth, not sticky, and not cooling. There was no dramatic tingling or cold feeling. It just felt like a soft clay layer sitting on my skin.

I also liked that it was very easy to spread.

Sometimes products in stick form can feel a little dragging on the skin, but this one applied surprisingly well. I used it all over my face, not just on my nose or oily areas, even though my main concern is clogged pores.

How I Used It

The first time I used it, I left it on for around 10 minutes.

The second time, I went over 15 minutes, but honestly, I forgot the exact time. I threw the box already and the instructions were there.

That is one small downside for me. The instructions are not printed on the stick itself.

It is not a big deal because you can easily search for the instructions online, but if you are like me and you get too excited to try a new product, you might forget to read the box first.

Lesson learned. Read before throwing the box. Lol.

Since I am still new to this product, I am introducing it slowly to my skin. I used it once last week, then twice this week. If my skin continues to be okay with it, I might settle into using it around two to three times a week.

I usually use it at night.

After rinsing, I go in with my water-based toner and then continue with my usual skincare routine.

How It Felt on My Skin

What surprised me most was that it did not feel drying.

I expected it to feel a little tight because that is what I remember from clay masks, especially from my Aztec Clay Mask days. Maybe it also helped that I am not mixing this with apple cider vinegar.

It did not feel uncomfortable. It did not feel sticky. It did not feel too tight as it dried.

Rinsing it off was easy too.

After washing my face, my skin felt clean. Not squeaky-clean in a stripped way, but clean in a soft and fresh way.

As someone with dry skin, I appreciate that.

Did It Help My Pores?

So far, I do feel like my skin looks cleaner after using it.

Do I think my pores look smaller already? Not really.

But to be fair, I have only used it three times. I do not expect one product to magically erase pores or make my skin look filtered overnight.

What I noticed is that my face feels cleaner after using it. My clogged areas feel a little better, and my skin feels smoother somehow.

It helped a little with texture, but I still want to observe it more.

I also did not experience irritation, redness, itchiness, or breakouts after using it, which is a good sign for me.

What I Like About It

I like how simple it is.

No mixing.

No brush.

No bowl.

No messy sink moment.

It is the kind of product I can use even when I am tired but still want to do a small self-care step before sleeping.

I also like that it makes skincare feel less complicated. Sometimes, I avoid masks because the preparation alone already feels like work. But with this, I can just twist, swipe, wait, and rinse.

It feels beginner-friendly.

It also made my little skincare night feel relaxing, which I really appreciated. I was not rushing. I was just resting, trying the product, and having a small “me time” moment.

What I Do Not Like

My only real issue is the instruction.

I wish they printed the basic usage direction on the stick or somewhere on the actual product packaging, not just on the box.

Again, it is not a big deal. You can search it online. But it would be nice to have the reminder there, especially for people like me who get excited and throw the box too early.

Other than that, I do not have much to complain about for now.

Who I Think This Is For

I think this is good for people who want a simple and mess-free clay mask.

It may be nice for beginners who feel intimidated by clay masks that need mixing. It is also good for someone who wants a quick pore-care step without making skincare feel like a full production.

I think people who struggle with clogged pores, blackheads, or texture might enjoy trying this.

But if you have very sensitive skin, I would be careful and patch test first. This is still a clay mask, and it also has exfoliating ingredients, so it is better to introduce it slowly.

For dry skin like mine, I think the key is not to overuse it and to follow up with a gentle, hydrating routine.

Is It Worth It?

For me, yes.

I forgot the exact price, so I will not pretend to remember it. But based on my experience so far, I do think it is worth trying, especially if you are curious about clay masks but do not like the mess.

Will I repurchase?

Maybe.

I want to use it a few more times before I fully decide. But so far, I like it enough to continue using it.

It is not a miracle product, and I do not want to make it sound like one. But it is simple, easy, and it gave me that clean-skin feeling without making my dry skin feel uncomfortable.

And honestly, sometimes that is enough for a product to earn its little spot in my routine.

Final Thoughts

This was a nice little Watsons find.

I bought it out of curiosity, but it ended up giving me a small self-care moment I did not know I needed.

It reminded me of the old blogging days too, when I would try something, take photos, and write honestly about how it felt. Not perfect. Not overly professional. Just real.
