Annipie Davao: My Go To Comfort Food Place at Abreeza

Annipie Davao has always been one of those places that feels familiar to me. It is not the biggest restaurant, especially the Annipie branch in Abreeza, but there is something about it that feels homey. Maybe it is the smell of cinnamon rolls, the simple café setup, or the fact that it has been part of Davao for so long. Whatever it is, Annipie is one of those places I always find myself going back to.

I usually go to the Annipie Abreeza branch because it is the closest one to our house. It is small, but I do not really mind. Sometimes, small places feel more comforting because they are not too overwhelming. It is the kind of place where I can sit down, eat something familiar, and enjoy a simple meal without overthinking too much.

A Familiar Davao Favorite

I honestly cannot remember the first time I tried Annipie. I just know that it has been around Davao City for years. I read that Annipie started in Davao in the 1980s and eventually became known for its bakery café concept and cinnamon rolls. I only became more familiar with it around the 2000s because they had a branch in Ma-a, where I used to live.

Maybe that is why Annipie feels familiar to me. It is not a new place that I suddenly discovered online. It is one of those local names that has been quietly part of Davao life for many years. Even if I do not have one big memory attached to it, it still feels like a place that belongs to the city and to my own little food routine.

Why I Keep Going Back to Annipie Abreeza

The Annipie branch in Abreeza is not really big. To be honest, it is just a small space. But I think that is also part of why I like it. It feels simple, casual, and easy to visit.

I do not always need a fancy restaurant to enjoy food. Sometimes, I just want a place that feels comfortable. Somewhere I can order something I already know I like. Somewhere I can sit for a while, eat slowly, and enjoy the feeling of being in a familiar place.

That is what Annipie is for me. It has that homey feeling that makes me come back.

My Usual Order: Seafood Marinara Pasta

I love Annipie’s cinnamon rolls, but lately, I have been cutting off sugar, so I do not order them as often as before. These days, my usual order is their Seafood Marinara pasta.

I like it because it feels flavorful without being too heavy. The tomato based sauce gives it that slightly tangy and savory taste, while the seafood makes it more filling and satisfying. It is the kind of pasta I can enjoy when I want something comforting but not too creamy. I also like that it does not feel too overwhelming, especially when I am not in the mood for something too rich.

For me, seafood marinara is a good choice when I still want a nice meal at Annipie without going straight to sweets. It is simple, but it works. It is the kind of dish I would order again because it feels safe, familiar, and satisfying.

Of course, Annipie will always be known for their cinnamon rolls. Even if I am trying to avoid too much sugar lately, I still have a soft spot for their Classic or Glazed cinnamon roll.

There is something comforting about a simple cinnamon roll. I do not always need the fancy flavors or toppings. Sometimes, the classic one is enough. It has that sweet cinnamon taste that Annipie is known for, and it reminds me why people in Davao still love going there after all these years.

I think the Classic or Glazed cinnamon roll is the kind of pastry that is best enjoyed slowly, especially with coffee or a drink on the side. It is sweet, soft, and familiar. For me, it is still one of the things that makes Annipie feel like Annipie.

A Simple Food Review

If I would describe Annipie Davao in a simple way, I would say it is a comfort food place. It is not the kind of restaurant that tries too hard. It feels casual, familiar, and easy to love.

Their cinnamon rolls are still the highlight, especially if you are visiting for the first time. But I also like that they have other food choices, like pasta, meals, and drinks, so you can still enjoy the place even if you are not in the mood for sweets.

The Annipie Abreeza branch may be small, but it is convenient for me. Since it is close to our house, it has become one of my easy choices whenever I want something familiar in the mall. It is not perfect, and it does not have to be. Sometimes, the places we keep going back to are not always the grandest ones. Sometimes, they are simply the ones that make us feel comfortable.

Final Thoughts

Annipie Davao is one of my go to restaurants because it feels homey. I may not have a big unforgettable memory there, but I think that is okay. Not every favorite place needs a dramatic story. Some places become special because they are always there when we want something familiar.

For me, Annipie is one of those places. A small café, a plate of seafood marinara, the smell of cinnamon rolls, and that quiet feeling of comfort.

Would I still go back? Yes, definitely. Especially to the Annipie Abreeza branch, because it is close, familiar, and always feels like an easy comfort food stop in Davao.
