More than a VA—this is my life, unplugged.

A Little Update: A Big Thank You, and a New Chapter

Hello everyone,

If you’ve noticed my absence over the past few weeks, you’re not alone. I’ve been quiet here, and for that, I apologize. Life, as they say, has a way of throwing you a few curveballs all at once, and I found myself needing to step away and focus on a few unexpected, but incredibly important, things.

The past month has been a whirlwind of unforeseen events and personal change. On a personal note, my mom had a health scare that landed her in the ICU for a while. It was an incredibly difficult and draining time, and my focus was entirely on her recovery and our family. At the same time, a fantastic new job opportunity came my way, which, while exciting, has required a significant amount of my time and energy to get settled in.

Between the emotional weight of a loved one’s health and the mental demands of a new career, my mind felt cluttered. I found myself without the creative space or energy to write, edit, or share the way I normally do. I know many of you were looking forward to hearing more about my incredible trip to Zhangjiajie, and believe me, those posts are still sitting in my drafts, just waiting for me to hit “publish.” I haven’t forgotten about them!

The Unforeseen Pause: A New Path Forward

In the midst of this blogging hiatus, I’ve learned a lot about giving yourself grace. Even though things aren’t fully settled and we are still constantly visiting my mom’s doctors, I’ve decided that it’s okay to write a new chapter. While the creative energy may not be consistent, I am committed to trying my best to write whenever I can, even if the words stay tucked away in my drafts for a while.

This experience has reminded me that progress isn’t always a straight line. It’s about finding what you can do in the moments you have, and that’s exactly what I plan to do. I am ready to dive back into those travel posts, and I’m so excited to finally be able to share them with you.
Thank you so much for your patience and understanding. It means the world to me. I’m starting to find my footing again, and I’m so excited to get back to sharing stories and experiences with all of you.
